When to use

Values?

I use this simple exercise quite early on in the coaching journey to understand key drivers.

How to use it?

If you ask someone what their values are, it is quite challenging to say. The Values are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions. Understanding Values will help you determine what is important to the person. Values are the motive behind purposeful action. Values are the ends to which we act and come in many forms.

Ask the person to write 3 people they admire (alive or not, famous or not, real or from fiction). Then, ask to write as many attributes for each why they admire each of them.

Any overlap? Recurring theme?

These are likely to be their values.

Where to find it?

You can find the 360 and many other coaching tools on the GoMasterCoach Toolbox.
